It's official!
I PASSED MY BOARDS! :)
I am officially Ramona Miller, RN, BSN.
That's right. I will now be taking care of very very sick people.

a new chapter is about to begin
Today is my last day ever working as a nursing assistant.This is happy!!! :)
BUT...
Today is also my last day working in the Emergency Room. This is sad. :(
I didn't realize how much I liked my co-workers until recently, when my leaving them became iminent. Now I'll have to start all over with new co-workers. I'm sure they'll be nice, but it just takes time to form the level of comfort I have now in my work enviornment - the joking, the familiarity with their lives and families, the discussions, and all the things that makes coming to work actually fun. Plus, I love the crazy stuff we see in the ER, but I'm at least comforted in the fact that we see just as crazy and extreme stuff in the SICU, where I'm going. (The difference is the level of responsibility I'll have.)
Anyway, I just thought I'd get some thoughts on a page while I'm sitting here. That's what a blog is about, right?
Tomorrow morning I leave for Ohio with my mom, sister, and niece. I'm excited about that for sure! My brother is getting married on Saturday, and we'll be there several days early, preparing and decorating, and having a grand old time. :) I love weddings and I love my family, so all in all, it will be pretty great!
Speaking of my mom, I asked her to bring cinnamon rolls today to celebrate my last day here. She made 60 of them, and within about 10 minutes I think probably 20 were gone. Now everyone loves me more than ever. :) Way to go out on a good note, huh? :)

Why am I awake?!
I don't know. I have no logical answer. Ok, so I have some things that could have contributed to my insomnia, like maybe the 2.5 hr. nap I took yesterday. Or the shot of espresso I had in the afternoon. BUT those things have never stopped me from sleeping before! This is so very annoying to me, because I know how tired I'll be when my alarm goes off in less than 3 hours. So here I sit for lack of anything else to do at 4:15 a.m...tossing and turning is just getting old.
I guess I'll post some recent pictures, though many of you have seen these on facebook.
When we arrived at my pinning ceremony, we were suddenly told that we could have whomever we wanted pin us. Since Althea is also a nurse, and my wonderful sister, I chose her. :)
Not the whole fam, but everyone in Iowa. (Ryan was home taking care of baby Grael)

With my lovely parents. Can you believe they have a baby that's 22 years old?
In other news, could my niece get any cuter?! This is her on Wednesday, and she was 7 weeks Thursday.

I would just like to say
I AM DONE WITH UNDERGRADUATE COLLEGE FOREVER!!!!!! :)
as of monday night i am so very excited to have taken my last final.
as of this saturday i will officially have my diploma.
as of always i love my husband, but especially today as he took work off to be w/ me. i asked him what we we're going to do, and he said "do you want to go shopping?" he really is the BEST! :)
ok, i'm going to go have some fun :)
SMILE! i am proof that time flies and it really does turn out ok. :)

i should be writing a paper...
but i couldn't resist posting this: :)
In other news: I'm soooo ready to graduate, but I have some good news to help get me through the next month:
1. I've been accepted into graduate school here at the U of I :)
2. I got hired for the job I wanted in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit at the U of I Hospital (it's the unit I currently have my internship on and I love it!)
Those were both things I was really really wanting and prayed about, so praise the Lord for helping me! I've been blessed. So far everything is going the way I need it to go for my career. PTL!
